Spirit wear will be made available for purchase if the learners wishing to order it. At the beginning of the school year, the teachers and learners will work together to create guidelines for appropriate school clothing.

Spirit Wear

Spirit Wear orders are completed four times each school year in September, January and April. Payment can be made by e-transfer, cash, or cheque. All cheques for NEW Spirit Wear are payable to Hands on Summer Camp Society (HOSCS).

Lunches & Snacks

Parents are responsible for providing snacks and lunches. We also ask that parents do not include candy or soft drinks with meals. Please send food that is ready to consume right out of the lunch box as we do not have the time or facilities to heat up learners’ food. If you are sending food that requires a fork or spoon, please send those along in your child’s lunch as well, as we do not have enough utensils to equip the children each day. Elizabeth Buckley School is working to become a more “green” school. Part of this initiative is “garbage free lunch.” Healthy food choices, sent in reusable containers, are preferable. We appreciate your assistance with this.

Daily Arrival and Departure

Transit buses stop outside the front door of the school. Each student will receive a transit pass that can be used throughout the year for field trips and commuting to school.

The city block on which the school sits has multiple loading zones that can be used for convenient drop-off. For those who need to park and come into the school, there are two parkades close by that offer 1 hour of free parking.

For cyclists, the building has secure storage for bikes.

Please e-mail the school to let us know if your child will be late or absent by 8:30 am (Elementary) or 9:00 am (Middle School). If e-mail is not an option, please leave a message on the main phone line: 250.995.6425. For funding and statistical purposes, Elizabeth Buckley School must document absences. For extended absences, a doctor’s note may be required.
